Description

Trained CASA volunteers become the voice of their assigned child in the court. The volunteer visits with the child monthly, attends all court hearings and any other meetings relevant to the child. The volunteer then submits a prepared report for the Juvenile Court Judge containing factual information and recommendations based on those facts.

CASA volunteers complete a volunteer application, provide references and permit a criminal background check. They attend 36 hours of initial training. 12 hours of in-service training are required annually. Each volunteer is supervised by a Program Director for the county in which they volunteer.

CASA is looking for mature, objective volunteers who are comfortable working with children and their families and who are willing to commit a minimum of one year to the child and the program.
