Mission Statement

Our mission is to make early literacy achievable for all children. K12 Team addresses literacy during pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades. Our goal is for children to master the dominant skills necessary for becoming lifelong learners before attending 3rd grade. We will achieve our mission by: * Tutoring students in small groups; * Training our tutors to teach a phonics-based reading method; * Creating a positive learning environment to build a student’s confidence through achievable successes.

Description

K12 Team is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that teaches reading to children. Using a systematic phonics program we tutor elementary school students both privately and in small groups. We have after school programs and programs open to the community. K12 Team addresses literacy needs as early as pre-kindergarten. Early phonemic awareness combined with reading skills and vocabulary development builds a strong foundation for the comprehension skill needed to become a lifelong learner.
