MISSION STATEMENT

Through its arts and educational programs and its permanent collection, the Swedish American Museum interprets the immigrant experience for children and adults and promotes appreciation of contemporary Swedish-American culture.

Description

DESCRIPTION

The Swedish American Museum is a vibrant part of the Andersonville community and has much to offer. We have a Museum gift shop, a first floor gallery space that houses up to four special exhibits a year, a main exhibit area focusing on Swedish immigration on the second floor, and the Brunk Children's Museum of Immigration on the third floor where younger kids can come and enjoy a hands-on experience. We also try to maintain our mission's purpose by holding programs and events such as concerts, lectures, family and children oriented programs, and traditional events such as Julmarknad, Midsommarfest, and a Herring Breakfast.
