Jefferson Elementary School

Description

Three hundred students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade attend Jefferson, which is located in a quiet residential neighborhood just west of Sacramento on Rose. We're in the Northwest zone of Berkeley elementary schools, along with Thousand Oaks and Rosa Parks schools. Like all Berkeley elementary schools, our small size allows teachers,students and families to know each other well. Teachers share information with their colleagues as students progress each year. Each Jefferson family becomes part of the larger Jefferson community. Jefferson seeks university students to partner with us as volunteers in a variety of ways: we have one time special events like garden planting days, field days, and celebrations. In addition, Jefferson is looking for university students who will help with after school sports, tutoring and mentoring in an ongoing volunteer positions .
