Mission Statement

To rescue impounded & stray American Eskimo dogs in Houston and surrounding areas, provide safety and vet care, and locate qualified adopters.

Description

Houston Eskimo Rescue has been rescuing and rehoming American Eskimo Dogs and American Eskimo Dog mixes in the Houston and surrounding areas since 2000. We are a completely volunteer-run organization of dedicated people who love dogs. HER works in cooperation with New Leash On Life (NLOL) in San Antonio and the national American Eskimo Dog rescue organization, Heartbandits, to provide care and find qualified, permanent, adoptive homes. Heart Bandits is a nonprofit federally tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization with chapters across the USA and Canada. HER's goals are to: Market American Eskimos and Eskimo mixes to potential adopters Locate foster families for incoming rescue dogs Raise funds for vetting and housing rescued dogs Recruit volunteers to foster, transport, train, fund raise, and provide TLC for rescued dogs under our care.
