Mission Statement
The Ulster County Office of the Aging assists New Yorkers, age 60 and over, with supports and services to allow them to remain as independent, for as long as possible, in their own homes. In partnership with a network of public and private organizations, this department provides advocacy, development and delivery of person-centered, consumer-oriented, and cost-effective policies, programs and services that support and empower seniors and their families. - See more at: http://ulstercountyny.gov/aging/our-services#sthash.us4xua7Y.dpuf
Description
This program is essential in engaging seniors as volunteers and matching their valuable skills and experiences with appropriate volunteer opportunities throughout Ulster County. Whether it is driving someone to a doctor’s appointment, helping a neighbor remain independent or assisting a local elementary school as a reading tutor, there are so many opportunities for seniors to help others in the community. - See more at: http://ulstercountyny.gov/aging/volunteer-program#sthash.9446Xn5h.dpuf
