Seventh Generation Institute works to conserve biological diversity, foster sustainable resource use, and ensure an optimistic future for the human communities that depend on the natural world, through excellence in science and collaboration

Description

Our guiding philosophy is that effective conservation is founded in applied science and strong community participation.

We partner with agencies, user groups and community-based organizations to restore ecosystems, protect against climate change impacts, improve the stewardship of natural resources, develop new conservation tools and resources, and disseminate best practices and lessons learned in effective community-based conservation.

Our core programs include:

1) on-the-ground projects in conservation, ecosystem restoration, sustainable use and climate change adaptation;

2) technical assistance to community organizations and agencies; and

3) education, outreach, development of new information and tools in support of conservation, restoration, climate change adaptation and sustainable use.

This is a small organization that is doing great work. I have been volunteering my professional services with them and feel that it is the best use of my volunteer time that I could have made.
