Morning Star promotes the dignity and quality of life for frail elderly and socially isolated adults. We do this by using a participant centered approach with innovative programming while providing respite in a safe and supportive setting.
Description
Who We Are
Morning Star Adult Day Program at Lowry Intergenerational Center helps families keep adult loved ones at home and in the community, potentially preventing or postponing placement in a nursing home.
What We Do
Located in historic Lowry Building 880, the program offers care services for adults age 55 and older who need supervision or assistance during the day. We accept clients with both cognitive and physical challenges.
How Our Program Works
Most clients attend three days per week, which allows them to form friendships with other participants. However, single days or other individual arrangements also are possible.
Participants enjoy:
- Intergenerational activities
- Recreation and exercise
- Health monitoring and screen
- Outings
- Educational Programs
- Adaptive computers
- Art classes
- Special Events
- Nutritious meals and snacks
- Social interaction
Our participants form special bonds with staff and each other. Caregivers are given peace of mind, knowing their loved ones are under professional care.
