Mission Statement
The mission of the Friends of the Southeast Regional and Perry Branch Libraries is to aid and support our local library, promote literacy in children and adults, and expand the presence of the library for the benefit of the community. We do this through: Generating funds for monetary donations which finance additional library services and programs that are not part of the general library budget. Participating in relevant library and literacy community programs. Promoting and encouraging volunteering.
Description
Our all volunteer organization raises money by reselling donated books & media from our Friends Place Bookstore located in the entrance of the Southeast Regional Library. Our Friends Place provides funds for library programming; purchases books for the Southeast Regional & Perry Branch Libraries; purchases books for Gilbert schools; awards up to 15 scholarships each year to graduating Gilbert high school students; and supports the Mesa Laubach Literacy Council.
