Mission Statement

Swift Creek Mill Theatre's mission: (a) to continue the support of local patrons through the presentation of a season of drama, comedy, musical theatre and children's theatre; (b) to expand and enhance the cultural presence in Central and Southside Virginia; (c) to hire and showcase local talent, providing an outstanding environment for work and professional development; (d) to offer high quality theatre at a reasonable rate; and (e) to offer positive and value driven educational programs for children through theatrical productions and instructional camps.

Description

Swift Creek Mill Theatre has been delighting audiences with theatrical productions since 1965. It is housed in what is believed to be the oldest grist mill in America, dating back to Virginia's early English settlers. The 300 year old Mill has been made a Virginia Historical Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Theatre presents a year-round series of well known musicals, dramas and comedies for families and adults. A buffet dinner is available. A Youth Series features productions that appeal to youth and student groups. During the summer months the theatre offers enrichment camps for students.
