Mission Statement

Serve the blind through collection and donation of raw wool in the USA. Teach and train US students involved in sheep programs: the values of compassion, integrity and service to unknown others, resource conservation, ag business, the positive outcomes that flow from community involvement, leadership, issue identification, analysis, and resolution, ag welding, and the enhancement of self-confidence and self-respect from voluntary participation in this service.

Description

We are a non-profit corporation born out of a need to render assistance to blind adults who are employed by non-profit manufacturers working with wool textiles. We have grown nearly exponentially in the number of volunteer donors. We are transitioning from an experiment to a major national gatherer and supplier of raw grease wool. We supply solely the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind Foundation who in turn donates their wool to the adult blind services dvision of the Alabama State Department of Education. Nearly all the public who have small flocks and the broadly scattered student communities who raise sheep are volunteers and donors to our non profit. Those wishing to help us as donors vastly exceed our current ability to collect the wool and process the donations. We need help at every level as we rapidly expand into a national service.
