Our mission is to support, educate, and empower victims to seek justice in order to strengthen and rebuild their lives.
Crisis Intervention and Victimology Training and Volunteer Opportunity This is a well-structured, comprehensive and hands-on training, teaching basic crisis intervention skills, concepts and techniques. Volunteers respond to work with crime victims at the request of law enforcement. Volunteers can expect to get hands-on experience working with victims of crime on scene and in the courtroom. Many of our volunteers go on to work in fields like law enforcement, social work, mental health services, and victim advocacy. Anyone interested in attending the training or volunteering with the division must come to one the information session held on August 13th and August 20th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Miracle Mile Police Substation. 1310 West Miracle Mile Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705. If you have any questions at all, please call 724-5525.
This organization asks too much of their volunteers including a fee we have to pay for their training.
As a volunteer, it should be enough to volunteer one's time and energy; but my financial status is in the poverty level and I shouldn't be subjected to embarrassment having to admit that having to ask them to waive such a fee.
For future reference, NEVER recommend volunteer opportunities that require fees as a prerequisite.
