Mission Statement

The mission of the Strategic Air and Space Museum is to celebrate our heritage, preserve our artifacts and provide community education in the areas of science technology, engineering and math through imaginative, innovative and inspirational events and exhibits.

Description

A regional attraction, the Strategic Air & Space Museum reaches hundreds of thousands of visitors annually from across the Nation and around the globe. According to 2004 Department of Economic Development and Department of Travel & Tourism, the Museum is listed as one of the top five largest tourist attractions in the State. Additionally, it was voted Omaha's Best Museum for 2005 by Omaha Magazine. The Strategic Air & Space Museum has welcomed 1.8 million visitors since the grand opening of the current facility. From the original Museum in Bellevue to the current location, it has emerged as a state-of-the-art cultural institution proudly displaying military aircraft used to protect our nation's freedom as well as offering science technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related programming to our young patrons.
