Benton Family Farm

Description

Benton Family Farm is a 4th Generation Working family farm that has evoled into teaching agricultural education over the last 25 years. It began with a few hundred children one fall with a family farm having to diversify their goals as to stay a working farm. The farm gave tours and hands on demostrations which included a pumpkin grown on the farm. The farm has been in hands of Benton's for the past 74 years. Over the years it was decided as the 2nd generation was in his 80's to be sure the farm kept on providing education to the children with year round efforts of activities; In doing so a nonprofit org. was approved by the IRS so the farm could remain alive and working. The farm for the past 7 years has included a summer farm day camp into its activities which allows even more education to go into our community. For the past 3 years a Spring Children's event has been put on to introduce new and old families to all the spring farm babies born; which included fun activities such as a egg hunt to go along our educational hands on event for the children and families. We have also added private tours and school tours year round over the past three years. We have many educational oppurtunities available!
