Mission Statement

The Salvation Army , an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Description

We are the Salvation Army of Manatee County and we combine our global mission of preaching the gospel & meeting human needs, with our passion for our local community and call it Mission Manatee.

Our unit is locally driven, funded and focussed. Volunteers are essential in serving our community and we want to recruit, work with and celebrate kindness, compassion, dedication and service.


Our facility in Downtown Bradenton houses two shelters - one of which is the ONLY emergency shelter for woman/children in our county- a large commercial kitchen, food pantry and social service offices to respond to the needs of our homeless community and those at risk of becoming homeless.
