Mission Statement

Albuquerque Reads is a program designed to imrpoveliteracy rates of hildren in Title I schools with a goal to have every participating kindergartener reading at or above grade level by the end of the school year.

Description

Launched in 2003, Albuquerque Reads is a partnership between the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce and Albuquerque Public Schools. The program is dedicated to supporting the development of literacy in kindergarten children; ensuring their preparedness to enter first grade reading at or above grade level, thereby closing the achievement gap and giving these young people a much better chance at finishing high school, attending college and finding gainful employment.
