Mission Statement

The Atlanta Harm Reduction Center is an HIV and hepatitis C prevention program serving active drug users, homeless people, street sex workers, and other community members. We provide education through street outreach and groups. We provide referrals to drug treatment, social services, and medical care and help people living with HIV and hepatitis C with transportation and advocacy to access healthcare.

Description

Within the first 5 years of injecting drugs between 60%-90% of injectors become infected with hepatitis C. 1/3rd of all AIDS cases are the result of injection drug use. HIV and hepatitis C are preventable; our program supports any positive change and strives to empower individuals and communities to improve their health and wellness.
