The Humane Society of Cherokee County (HSCC) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization of volunteers who are dedicated to reducing, if not eliminating, pet overpopulation, abuse and neglect within the county. HSCC is a no-kill shelter supported by donations, fund-raising projects, memberships and grants.

The organization does not receive state or federal funds. It is a member of the Oklahoma Humane Federation, which consists of similar groups, but it is neither affiliated with nor subsidized by any other animal welfare or animal rights organization.
