Are you a friendly, open-minded person who wants to gain experience supporting families and children? Are you interested in gaining administration and communication experience? Caudwell Children are looking for volunteers to help with our family workshops! Caudwell Children offer a range of parent and family workshops that provide tips and strategies on many of the common difficulties associated with raising a child with disabilities or autism: Meeting Sensory needs, Language and communication, Forming relationships, Supporting positive behaviour, Autism and well-being, Change and transition, Eating and nutrition, and Sleep. Volunteer Responsibilities include: Processing applications completing a range of administration tasks such as data entry, emailing families, checking financial documentation, scanning. Preparing resource packs to be used during the workshops Responding to telephone enquiries and booking families on to workshops Researching and contacting organisations and networks whose beneficiaries may be interested in attending the workshops. Supporting staff with the delivery of the workshop sessions and activities, engaging with and supporting both the parents and the children who attend. This role takes place on weekdays only between 9 till 5. We suggest a time commitment of 4 hours a week, with a minimum commitment of 6 months for this role - full training and support will be provided. Over 18’s only can apply for this role. Takes place at the Caudwell Children on Keele University campus.

Caudwell Children are looking for volunteers to help with our Applications team. As a volunteer in our Applications department, roles and responsibilities may include: Processing and completing applications for specialist equipment, therapies and treatment, verifying financial documentation and diagnosis letters Data inputting onto our database system Carrying out a range of administrative tasks such as filing, composing emails, scanning. Providing an information and signposting service Writing financial and application summaries Communication with other organisations via telephone and email Answering telephone / email enquiries regarding the status of applications We’re looking for somebody approachable, dedicated and responsible, with a good level of written and verbal communication, and telephone and computer literacy. Can you spare 3-4 hrs a week? We are open 9-5 weekdays - We suggest a minimum commitment of 6 months for this role - full training and support will be provided. Description Caudwell Children provide family support services, equipment, treatment and therapies for disabled children and their families across the UK. We also provide autism assessment and support at our purpose built Caudwell International Children's Centre based in Staffordshire. Passionate, positive and practical; we are motivated to improve the lives of the estimated 770,000 disabled children living in the UK, starting with the 400,000 living in or on the margins of poverty. We can help with: - Family support services and short break activities - ASD assessments from our multidisciplinary clinical team - Funded mobility and sensory equipment - Access to life saving surgeries and treatments - Life changing therapy and support programmes for children with brain injuries and their families

These sessions enable disabled children to access fun, inspirational and challenging leisure activities that build life skills and promote independence whilst providing carers with vital short break respite. With our support, disabled children and young people get to explore their interests, talents and develop vital life skills. Short break activities build future hopes and aspirations and provide children with the confidence to achieve their full potential. Volunteer Responsibilities include: Assist Caudwell Children staff member(s) in running the short break activity sessions Help to ensure all children are safe during the activity sessions Support staff members with planned activities Participate in setting up an activity and helping with the set down Communicate and work with the children to ensure they have fun This role takes place on the third Saturday of the month. We suggest a minimum commitment of 6 months for this role - full training and support will be provided. Over 18’s only can apply for this role. Are you interested in helping a charity fundraising team with Grants and Bid writing to support disabled children? Do you want to gain administration and research experience? Caudwell Children are looking for volunteers to help within our Income Generation Grants team! The Grants department aim to grow the charities income and secure funding in order to drive forward services we provide to families of disabled children. The team aims to diversify the income portfolio of the charity, to win funding and grants available from trusts and foundations, and to develop new business. Volunteer Responsibilities include: General administration duties to support Grants function Researching trusts and foundations Inputting data into relevant spreadsheets and/ or client-based systems Contacting trusts and foundations in regards to existing applications This role takes place on weekdays only between 9 till 5. We suggest a time commitment of 4 hours a week for this role - training and support will be provided. Takes place at the Caudwell Children on Keele University campus. (Remote opportunities available).
