Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Helping everyone live closer to the earth, through sustainable living and practical farming to extend the family resources, without over-extending your family budget!
Schwarts Farms is the hands on classroom of the Andrew R. Schwartz Foundation (A small, local non profit) We teach others through hands on teaching how to grow your own food...We have Meat Goats, Cattle, and Dairy goats, as well as Chickens (meat and Eggs) and Ducks (Also meat and eggs) We are getting out planting projects under way for our Community Supported Agriculture program as well.
We also work with "Differently Abled" people, (We don't use the term "Disabled) and teens, Vets, and people from ALL walks of life...showing them how farming and gardening is an enjoyable sustainable and nutritious resource, that they can manage to bring home to their families regardless of the size of their yard. (or lack thereof)
We also rescue animals We currently have 10 rescue horses, which our volunteers help care for, and yes this includes riding them!
We ALWAYS have something going on. (There is never nothing going on.) We have NEW Volunteer orientations every Saturday, which consists of a tour of the farm, followed by animal feeding and whatever tasks we have set up for that weekend. Everything we do is teaching, experiencing, and soaking up nature and the one of a kind affection the animals offer each human that touches their lives.
Come be a part of something BIG! We are just getting things rolling, there is so much for you to DO and LEARN!
