Mission Statement

Pets Are Worth Saving (PAWS) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to:

1. Providing assistance to abandoned and abused animals in NW Alabama which may include: rescuing, fostering, and adopting companion animals to permanent loving homes.

2. Raising funds to support a low-cost spay/neuter program.

3. Raising funds to establish a no-kill community for NW Alabama.

4. Educating people on the compassionate treatment and care of companion animals.

Description

Foster/Adoption Program - Fostering is an integral part of our organization as it allows us to place dogs, cats, and other abandoned, orphaned, or surrendered animals into loving homes whitle they wait for a permanent adoptive family. We provide support and veterinary care.

Spay/Neuter Program - This program assists families in Colbert, Franklin, and Lauderdale Counties that receive government assistance in having their companion animals spayed or neutered at little-to-no cost. PAWS believes the key to reaching our goal of a sustainable no-kill community is to reduce the population by spaying and neutering.

Trap Neuter Release(TNR) Program - A TNR program was established to evaluate the possibility of promoting a more humane method of dealing with Feral cats.
