The Adult Day Center (ADC) in Paso Robles, CA is an affordable adult day care program that focuses on providing respite to family caregivers and quality care to aging loved ones with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other cognitive impairments. ADC provides a supportive day care environment that assists seniors in reaching and maintaining their highest level of cognitive function. The program is a social model of care and it's designed to keep seniors independent and living outside of assisted living and nursing homes for as long as possible, and providing a much needed break for their family caregivers. ADC’s motto is "Celebrate living in the moment!" Many of the senior participants consider ADC their second home and call it "The Club." ADC provides a full day of activities, Monday through Friday from 8:00am- 5:00pm, to stimulate and maintain cognitive and physical abilities.

CAPSLO is looking for volunteers to donate hygiene items and create hygiene kits for the participants of 40 Prado Homeless Services Center. Needed items include travel sized items of the following: Hand Sanitizer Deodorant Kleenex Toothpaste/Toothbrushes Shampoo Conditioner Lotion Kits can be assembled offsite and delivered to 40 Prado Homeless Services Center. Dinner Meal Prep Volunteer is located at 40 Prado Road in San Luis Obispo. Arrival at 3:00pm, wash hands and add gloves and hair net. Provide support to kitchen staff in preperation for dinner service Help with any clean up that may be needed after dinner has been prepared (dishes, clean off surfaces that were used, put and organize supplies away)

The 40 Prado Warming Center opens between November 1st-March 31st when the weather forecast includes rain or temperatures below 38* F. Volunteers are especially helpful on these nights, as we open up 40 Prado to more people to stay warm and dry throughout the night. Shifts available: 6:00pm - 9:00pm, 9:00pm - 12:00am, 12:00am - 3:00am, 3:00am - 6:00am Volunteers assist with the evening shift, set up cots, help clients check in and get settled and warm for the night, supervise sleeping areas, and help prepare the shelter for the next day. Volunteers can bring a book or work to keep busy while supervising sleeping clients. These shifts are a great opportunity for college students who have course required hours to complete. Hand out any linen, clean clothing, or food as needed. The Warming Center also needs donations of the following items. Warming Center donations can be dropped off directly at 40 Prado Road. Sleeping bags and blankets Large trash bags Tents Coffee, tea, creamer, sugar Yoga Mats & roll-up mattresses Instant Noodle/Cup of Noodles (camping meals as well) Large backpacks New socks and warm gloves Rain gear/ponchos/umbrellas Warm Clothing (pants/sweatpants, sweaters, & coats) Unopened hygiene items (shampoo, conditioner, soap, razors)
