Mission Statement

MISSION STATEMENT
The Black Academy of Arts and Letters is a multi-discipline arts organization established to create and enhance an awareness and understanding of artistic, cultural, and aesthetic differences utilizing the framework of African-American Arts and Letters. Further, it is established to promote, foster, cultivate, perpetuate and preserve the Arts and Letters of African-Americans in the Fine, Literary and Performing Arts.

Description

Each season we present a splendid roster of artists, scholars, and programs to TBAAL patrons and tourists from around the country and the world. Last season, more than a quarter million patrons attended the diverse program offerings of music and dance concerts, theatrical productions, literary roundtable discussions, exhibitions, and film screenings. The young emerging and internationally acclaimed artists continue to ascend in the cultural and entertainment programs that we promote to the public.
