Discover America Foundation is a family-based organization that exists to provide disadvantaged youth the opportunity to be exposed to new experiences that will positively impact their lives, prepare them for the transition into adulthood and enrich their social relationships by making available resources and teaching skills that will encourage independent living.
The program focuses on building self-esteem, physical fitness, interaction with the environment through educational excursions as well as strengthening scholars' mental focus, goal-setting and academic excellence while supporting the foundation's mission to support, enhance and educate young men and women of low and moderate income in becoming productive, able-bodied, law abiding citizens in today's society; to enhance, build character and self-esteem, to nurture and cultivate the total person and to strive for excellence ensuring that very child has the basic necessities to build a better future.
Our goal in designing this program is not only to step outside the box, but to create a world in which the needs of the community are catered to and the minds of the youth are fed. Our vision for this enrichment program is to be more than an after-school care, but a bridge between the classroom and the home while building partnerships between our organization, local businesses, residents and government officials.
We believe Discover America Foundation is a unique institution that appeals to the greater community. The integrity of our organization depends upon our ability to target the needs of the community through research based decision-making that will strengthen the mission and purpose of our organization.
