Mission Statement

The dedicated firefighters of the LeRoy Fire Department serve and protect both the Village and Town of LeRoy in Western NY. Protecting an area of more than 42 square miles with a combined population of just under 8000.

Servicing the NYS Thruway and Routes 5 and 19, the department responds to Motor Vehicle accidents and other traffic incidents. The main street business district has many joined multi-story buildings. These structures pose many challenges to the department. The Oatka Creek runs through town causing occasional flooding and water rescue hazards.

During the past year firefighters' responded to over 300 alarms. Countless hours were spent maintaining equipment and keeping the fire station in order. Training and drills total hundreds of hours per year dedicated to the community.

Always ready and able the firefighters are 100% Volunteer. Make no mistake, the job they do is always 100% professional.
