Our Mission Hope Grows is a Pittsburgh based nonprofit that provides an environment that empowers family caregivers to seek wellness of mind, body, and spirit through counseling, education, supportive services, and therapeutic respite opportunities. We work with our corporate healthcare partners in the area to provide quality support through unique coping and self-care programs. Our approach incorporates nature and gardening in our therapeutic model of mental health therapy and support groups, as well as therapeutic respite and short break programming. Our work includes grant-funded projects and a wellness retreat style bed and breakfast. Position Summary Our Think Caregiver program provides phone support to family caregivers, to include emotional support, resources, and referrals. Caregivers opt in for the phone "check-in" calls, tailored to meet their individual needs. Online resources through Hope Grows social interactive platform is introduced to the family caregiver and community resources are provided to offer referrals based on the requested needs. Work may be performed virtually, once volunteer is on-boarded. Proposed Schedule: Flexible Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serves as the 'connector’ for family caregivers and caregiver communities Builds a trusting rapport with family caregivers to know that support is available without leaving home Connects with family caregivers via regular scheduled telephone calls, emails, links to social media, community services, etc. Contact Tracey Condosta at 412-369-4673 or intake@hopegrows.org for more information.

Our work includes grant-funded projects and a wellness retreat-style bed and breakfast. Position Summary Our volunteers are called " Garden Keepers" and express an interest and enthusiasm for gardening, enjoy being outdoors and getting their hands dirty, and have the ability to differentiate, or willingness to learn, a plant from a weed. Support is needed to help with the beautification and upkeep of the healing gardens at the Hope Grows Iris Respite House. Some tasks include watering the grounds, weeding, digging in the garden beds, harvesting and removal of plant material, and mulching. Volunteers are guided by our horticulturist and opportunities include ongoing and/or one-time garden tasks. Background checks are required. The support services we offer include individual and family counseling, various support groups, stress management education, essential oil classes, nature related programming, horticultural therapy, and programs such as 'Grow Together with Take a Break' Pollinator Nature Camp and 'Think Caregiver.'
