The mission of the Oklahoma State Department of Education is to improve student success through: service to schools, parents and students; leadership for education reform; and regulation/ deregulation of state and federal laws to provide accountability while removing any barriers to student success.

Description

As part of the Oklahoma State Department of Education, Oklahoma Learn and Serve seeks to incorporate service-learning into the state curriculum standards in an effort to support the mission of the Department. To this end, AmeriCorps*VISTA members are placed with Learn and Serve subgrantees to strengthen and expand their service-learning programs.
