Growing Up Guide Pup empowers volunteerism and disability advocacy through service dog edutainment.
We started a non-profit to bridge the gap between service dogs and the general public. We have a award winning web series that provides valuable information about service dog culture. Growing Up Guide Pup demonstrates the value of service dogs, proper ediquitte when encountering service dogs, and anecdotal information intended on encouraging the disabled population in why getting a service dog may be a good option for them. We focus the series on a brand new service dog puppy each season and show the hard work required in training a dog to help somebody in need. There is a lack of volunteers across the globe who are willing to raise dogs for service dog organizations and we addess this issue by creating the philanthropy desire to help by raising a puppy for all to enjoy. Many people can identify with the struggles and joy raising a puppy can provide. However when you tie those efforts to the demanding duties required to raise a service dog, most people in the general public are unaware. Also most people are unaware of proper protocal when encountering a service dog in public. On top if that we are striving to advocate with our new media approach. The lack of education the general public has when it comes to service dog laws is ubiquitous. Thousands of service dog users suffer from discrimination despite the Americans with Disabilities Act. So in short we strive to raise the bar and push service dog culture to a higher level. Our largest draw with our series has people asking "will this puppy have what it takes to become a service dog?" If so, "how can they just let the puppy go?"
