Our mission is to provide spiritual, physical and emotional support to nurture and empower families and individuals
Our programs are geared towards children, new/first time mothers, families in crisis, teens, domestic violence victims, and prison ministries. We offer individualized services which can include but is not limited to helping write resumes, teaching computer skills, attending court proceedings for moral support, tutoring, clothing assistance, and food assistance. We also offer free resources such as books, diapers, formula, lists of community agencies and their contact information.
Our goal is to help families and individuals not only with their immediate need, but to help them develop a long-term plan and finally to implement that plan. Currently we operate by appointment. Our long range plan is to have a full time facility, where families and individuals do not need an appointment. Our goal is to be a community resource. We plan to offer a community workshop for government, business and organizational leaders. We are going to study the Bridges Out of Poverty series. This series is designed to help communities work together as one body to not only address the immediate needs but to implement and sustain a plan to reduce the poverty level in our community.
Our largest program is Caring for Kidz, we provide meals to children who live in food insecure homes where meals are not consistently available when school is not in session. Our program focuses on communities where programs do not already exist and where funding from Feeding America and other national programs are not available.
Each week participants receive 2 breakfast entrees, shelf stable milks and sides, 2 lunch entrees and sides, 2 dinner entrees and sides and 2 snacks per weekend. Our meals offer grains, fruits, vegetables, protein and shelf stable milk. Each item is selected based on its nutritional value, weight, packaging and price.
