Mission Statement

American Autism Association (AAA) provides community-based sports and recreational programs that improve the functioning, he alth and self-esteem of children and youth with autism to low-income children and their families. The programs designed by AAA vary widely and we focus our efforts on being able to work to meet the specific and often complex needs of a variety of children on the Autism Spectrum. With everything from dance to arts and crafts, AAA continues to expand our program offerings by forming partnerships or funding pilot programs, which can demonstrate both need and effectiveness. AAA also provides non-diagnostic referrals to service providers we have reviewed and researched and assistance to parents in accessing health and educational resources available through government agencies.

Description

The American Autism Association was founded in 2010 as a non-for-profit organization with the goal of helping low-income fam ilies in the New York area. Now more than ever there is an urgent need for increased funding, services and support for people living with autism to lead more self-sufficient lives. For years, the founders of the American Autism Association have watched all too closely at the hardships that these families face in their everyday lives, while trying to conjure up a solution to alleviate some of this burden and let these families know that they’re not alone. Through private and corporate donations, the American Autism Association provides educational services and financial assistance to families that need it the most.

Great cause and great people to work with! They were very responsive and showed their appreciation quickly after the event which is not as common as you would think.
