Mission Statement

Our mission is to teach good citizenship within the Czech community and around the world and to instill pride in one's roots whatever they may be. Our intent is to teach people to be proud of their own culture while teaching them not just about the Czech lands but also Slavic culture. The Czech Center Museum Houston is an elegant, small museum focusing on the education of the Slavic culture. Do you have ancestors who used to live in the Austro-Hungarian empire or Czechoslovakia? Do you have Czech, Slovak or Slavic roots and are generally interested in arts as well as history, than become a docent at the Czech Center Museum Houston and enjoy once per week the feeling of a small baroque palace in Texas, Houston!

The Czech Center Museum Houston embodies the past heritage and education for today and the future between one million plus Czech Texans and the Czech lands in the areas of history, music, traditions, and genealogy research. The Czech Center Museum Houston is a 501 [c] [3] non-profit educational and cultural arts organization incorporated in the state of Texas on March 8, 1996.

We are all voulunteers, even the founders, Effie & Bill Rosene except for our Event Coordinator and Public Relations Coordinator. There are many fun events held throughout the year and we welcome of our volunteers to participate.
