The purpose of the Idaho Falls CommUNITY Festival is to educate the community on the many facets of diversity and commonalities while promoting the valuable resources for the many voices among the various communities in southeastern Idaho.
Diversity entails not only race, culture, values, beliefs, and customs but also embraces a wide array of residents such as the deaf, blind, veterans, genders, senior citizens, LGBT, mental and/or physical challenged, immigrants, homeless and all economic classes.
The goal of the organization is simple: to help bridge--and eventually eliminate--the existing unfortunate gaps in everyday life that divide us, instead building a rich and satisfying life for all that makes living and working in eastern Idaho more worthwhile.
CommUNITY Festivalhas successfully incorporated diversity in the festival by including representation from a wide range of cultures and constituencies that have different values, points of view, beliefs, ideologies, rituals, customs, languages, ethnicities, ages, abilities and disabilities.
The slogan, "Uniting Our Community Voices," exemplifies the spirit of bringing all of us together to make the region a rich, diverse and deeply satisfying place in which to live.
CommUNITY Festival, Inc. is greatly appreciative of all that have participated and donated in many ways in the past. We acknowledge that our goals have been met only with the generosity of so many and encourage those to maintain this vital link.
Your ideas and contributions are greatly appreciated, as there is much work for all of us to do.
We strongly encourage those that have yet to participate to find a role that is important to you and become part of this unique fabric.
The cloth that can be woven of our uniquely diverse threads will make a strong material that will endure for years to come.
