Communities In Schools of Miami works with some of Miami's most challenged students. In order to assist these at risk students and their families, Communities In Schools mobilizes the community and brings existing resources into the schools - right where they are needed.

CIS of Miami links schools and community resources to help kids finish school and prepare for life. Services are offered free to the students. Programs are located in grade schools, high schools and at many community sites.

Many individuals are crucial to the success of Communities in Schools, including dedicated students, parents, volunteers, mentors, tutors, teachers, partners, benefactors, AmeriCorps members, staff members and the board of directors.

CIS Goals and Objectives:

A personal one on one on going realtionship with a caring adult.

Provide a safe place to learn and grow

A marketable skill to use upon graduation

An opportunity to give back to the communities and their peers.
