Mission Statement

The Santa Monica Arts Foundation is a private non-profit agency dedicated to promoting the arts by raising funds to finance art programs developed by the Santa Monica Arts Commission. The Arts Foundation frequently acts as a 501(c)3 fiscal receiver for other Santa Monica-based arts organizations as well as for individual artists raising funds for public art projects. The Foundation shares its board with the Santa Monica Arts Commission and is housed in the offices of the Santa Monica Cultural Affairs Division.

Description

Community Arts Resources (CARS) needs YOU to be a volunteer for the Santa Monica Festival! Volunteer shifts are approximately 3.5 hours each, and most are scheduled between 10 AM and 7 PM. Individual volunteers as well as school/community groups are welcome. Positions include (but are not limited to): Festival Set-Up - Assisting with festival set up. Includes signage application and table/tent set up Production Assistant - Assist in all production aspects of festival. Stage and Performance Asst. - Assist in stage management and show flow. Performer Greeter & Usher - Welcome performers and assist them in getting from point A to point B. Workshop Assistant - Help facilitate art experiences for workshop participants. "Gopher" - Act as runner/messenger throughout the day in support of support of festival activities. Festival Break-Down - Assist in the deconstruction of the festival and its contents. Festival grounds clean-up - Assist in making sure we leave the festival grounds
