Description

Founded in 1958, Abilities First is a nonprofit organization located in Middletown, Ohio that helps children and adults with a wide range of disabilities achieve their unique potential. Our autism learning center provides children with the tools they need to be successful in school and our inclusive child care center provides a positive opportunity for children with special needs to learn alongside their typically developing peers. Through the delivery of outpatient physical, speech and occupational therapy services we improve function in all areas of development and our individualized job placement services help people achieve greater financial self-sufficiency through satisfying employment. For those whose developmental disability necessitates 24 hour residential care, we operate two intermediate care facilities as well as individualized daytime programming and recreational activities. Abilities First serves more than 800 children and adults with disabilities per year in multiple Ohio counties.
