The City of Elkhart Probation Department provides supervision to individuals placed on probation for Misdemeanor crimes.

Individuals on probation are required to complete court ordered counseling and education programs, perform community service and pay fines and costs. These are supervised by the probation department. Volunteers can serve in a variety of capacities but typically meet with clients to assess their progress on their obligations to the court, provide referalls to community resources and document their progress in their probtion file.
