The S.W.A.G. Foundation’s mission is to provide a safe environment to help students discover the steps they need to take to achieve their desired goals.
The S.W.A.G. Foundation Inc, is a non-profit organization, where students learn that all they need is a little S.W.A.G. in life to make their hopes and dreams a reality. Through our tutoring and mentoring program students are encouraged to SWAG "See it. Want it. Aspire to. Get it."
It refers to each students current and future goals.
The S.W.A.G. Foundation believes that if children are taught in the earlier stages of their lives, the necessary steps they need to take to achieve their desired goals they are more likely to achieve them.
How many times have you walked up to a child and ask them, "what do you want to be when you grow up? and they respond. "I want to be a doctor, a lawyer, or a fireman" your last response to them as they run away to go and play is "stay in school and study hard and you can be whatever you want to be!"
My question to you is, Study what exactly?
Take a moment and reflect to your Elementary and High School days. Have you ever sat in math class and thought " Why do I need to learn this? I am never going to use this in real life, I am going to a basketball player or a singer when I grow up" and proceeded to do everything but pay attention.
Now imagine how much more focused you would be if someone told you how bending your knees to a certain angle would give you a better jump shot or how learning how to measure your steps on stage would ensure you will always be in the spot light.
The S.W.A.G. Foundation's After School Program will help your child develop the learning skills to become whatever they aspire to be in life by guiding them through their academic challenges in Reading Writing, Math and Language Arts, using practical examples that apply to their future goals.
