Forever Fido Rescue is dedicated to reducing the over-population of companion animals through adoption efforts and education.

Description

One of the many reasons Elina Kaufman founded the Los Angeles-based organization, Forever Fido Rescue, was the negativity she continued to hear about the rescue community. "At one of the first adoption events where I volunteered, I had several people tell me that they decided to buy a dog from a breeder because a rescue group made it so difficult for them to adopt," Kaufman said. As our goal is to promote adoption, stories like this are very frustrating to hear. However, the negativity that sometimes surrounds the rescue community only encourages us to maintain a professional and compassionate commitment to our mission.

In addition to taking direct actions to save individual animals, we also strive to promote good rescue habits and set a positive example for the rescue community. It is our strong belief that everyone we encounter be treated with kindness and respect, just as we expect for the animals we rescue. With an estimated 3-4 million dogs and cats euthanized in the United States every year, our goal is to make rescue the only option for finding an animal companion. We will never discriminate against potential adopters due to age, income, occupation or the size of their home. We are in the business of saving lives. The animals who we rescue come in unique packages, and we understand that loving families and safe homes do as well.

Elina has surrounded herself with a volunteer team who has the spirit of what rescuing is all about. She welcomes anyone with good character, at any age, to share her vision. Her positive attitude makes nearly any task seem fun & interesting. I am so pleased to be a part of FFR & I recommend Forever Fido Rescue for anyone who has the time & compassion for animal welfare as there are many opportunities for volunteer work. We recently had the privilege of fostering a dog with an amazing story (don’t they all?). We had a couple of anxious moments and Elina was right there to guide us through his and our anxieties. We can certainly vouch for her character and foresight. FFR is quite capable of navigating through whatever challenges they are facing & it's exciting to see the incredible unfolding now underway as they take part in Race for The Rescues in October 2015 & are now a NKLA adoption partner. I volunteered to transport a dog one day, and ended up bringing home the most amazing foster dog! I have also volunteered at a few of the weekend rescue events, which are great because you get to meet potential adopters! I can't believe the amount of dogs this group is able to save and re-home each week - and they are DILIGENT about finding amazing homes! They ask all the right questions to potential fosters/adopters and they are sure to check out the home environment before placing each animal. Also, everyone who works at and volunteers for FFR is so amazing! Elina has the biggest heart of anyone I know and is on a mission to save every animal she possibly can! Come join the team and let's help her work to accomplish her dream! Every little bit really does so much for this organization and they are always there to help along the way. If you are interested in experiencing animal rescue - this is a great organization to work with!

I started volunteering with Forever Fido Rescue months ago, and I still feel like its too good to be true! I feel so honored to be involved in an organization that cares so much for the welfare of the dogs and also for its volunteers. Elina Kaufman is absolutely one of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She dedicates her life to saving lives and I'm proud to say I am able to help. Anyone who can dedicate any time to this organization will surely see it turned into lives saved!

Forever Fido is the best rescue organization I've ever encountered. Their compassion, dedication and determination is heartwarming and absolutely inspirational. The moment I met Elina Kaufman I could see the passion and warmth in her eyes. The miracles that Forever Fido manages to pull off in saving these precious lives is the most amazing thing in the world. I love seeing the care and love they dedicate to each dog, and treat every puppy as if he/ she is their own. I will be a loyal fan for life!

The simplest answer is that Forever Fido truly cares. This is not a "hands off" rescue organization. Each member performs multiple tasks and their drive to save every animal is never ending. As a volunteer I have seen such amazing transformation to these once "abandoned" animals. Once in the rescue they are loved and cared for, no expense is spared and no obstacle too high. Working with Forever Fido has made me feel like this is my true calling, something i want to be involved with for the rest of my life. People like this don't come along everyday and I'm proud to be a part of this incredible team!
