The World Affairs Council of New Orleans seeks to increase the community’s awareness of global issues and to further international understanding through educational and social forums with a commitment to diversity and inclusive fellowship.

Description

The World Affairs Council of New Orleans, a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization dedicated to presenting diverse views on a variety of international topics, was founded in 1944. Known until recently as the Foreign Relations Association of New Orleans, the membership voted in June 2002 to change our name to better reflect the organization’s affiliation with the over 80 councils nationwide in the World Affairs Councils of America (WACA) system. WACNO offers its members and their guests monthly programs and activities featuring prominent speakers from both the U.S. and abroad. Membership in WACNO provides access to a diverse arena of local presentations and special events, as well as benefits and discounts available through the WACA.
