The three primary program areas of Extension are Agriculture and Natural Resources, Youth Development and Family and Consumer Sciences. The ultimate objective of Extension is to make lasting impacts in peoples' lives through promoting local collaboration in educational programming. Extension activities occur, for example, in schools through 4-H; rural areas through sustainable agriculture; homes by providing food, nutrition and child development information. Extension also impacts cities and natural environments by providing urban forestation and green-growth learning opportunities.
