Mission Statement
The Rose Garden Restoration Committee, through the work of dedicated volunteers strives to restore and improve the Rose Garden located in Schenectady's Central Park through coordinated work maintenance projects and fund raising, so that the garden will be an asset and benefit to be enjoyed by the residents of the City of Schenectady and to others who may come to visit the Rose Garden.
Description
During the growing season (April through October), weekly volunteer work sessions are held in the Central Park Rose Garden. Work sessions include uncovering the rose bushes in the spring along with planting new bushes and pruning established bushes. General maintenance of the roses are done from May through September such as pruning, mulching, and weeding the beds. During October the rose beds are ready for their winterization.
