Mission Statement

Sierra Nevada Ballet is dedicated to presenting creative, innovative artistic productions and arts education programs while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Our long-term goals are to train future dance artists, build and develop an educated dance audience, and maintain a permanent and viable professional dance company in Northern Nevada.

Description

SNB’s activities are presented in the most populous regions of northern Nevada along the state’s western border in Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Gardnerville, and then further west into California’s Truckee and Lake Tahoe region representing a service area of approximately 800 square miles.

SNB serves the community by

  • bringing high caliber dance to the area and exposing the audience as well as young dancers to quality performance art,
  • presenting education programs in the public schools and dance workshops with master guest instructors,
  • offering an apprentice/trainee program and young choreographers awards program to provide exposure, professional performance opportunities,
  • presenting multiple annual free performances to benefit the community at large, and
  • collaborating with over fifty community-based arts organizations.
