Mission Statement

The Mission of Mothers Against Drunk Driving is to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and to prevent underage drinking.

Description

MADD provides services to the residents of ninety-two counties in Indiana, with the State MADD Office located in central Indiana and several Community Actions Sites throughout the state. As one of the largest crime victim assistance organizations in the world, MADD encourages bereaved families and injured victims to call MADD's 24-hour victim help line, 1-877-MADDHELP. These calls reach trained victim advocates who can provide emotional support, free literature on victim issues, and guidance through the criminal justice system. Last year, MADD Indiana provided victim services to more than 150 victims and surviving family members. Over the last five or so years MADD Indiana has provided Victim Services to nearly 1,000 victims and surviving family members.

MADD Indiana has worked diligently to strengthen and enhance relationships with Law Enforcement, worked to strengthen drunk driving laws and provided numerous presentations to parents and youth on the dangers or underage drinking. We sponsor four Victim Impact Panels - a program where victims and survivors tell offenders how drunk driving has irreversibly changed their lives in the hope of making a difference in their selfish decision to drink and drive. Our volunteers' come from all walks of life; they are Mothers, brothers, daughters, cousins, friends and co-workers. Drunk driving affects everyone.
