Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter is a non profit run entirely by volunteers. Volunteers walk dogs, socialize cats, attend community events, assist with cleaning, and perform many services both inside the county animal shelter and throughout the area. In order to run effectively we need volunteers who work behind the scenes from their home providing professional and administrative services. We welcome volunteers with a professional license (such as Veterinarian, Attorney, Accountant), those comfortable with technology, those with excellent verbal or written communication skills, and anyone willing to learn. All volunteers need to fill out an online application http://www.friendsofbcas.org/ways-help and attend an orientation.

We always need more people who want to walk dogs. The shelter can accommodate so many animals that the staff members just don't have enough time to make sure that every animal gets attention every day. Human interaction helps the animals release pent up energy and reduces stress, making them happier and more adoptable. Walking the dogs really does help them get adopted! Before you can volunteer with the Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter, you must attend a general orientation class. http://www.friendsofbcas.org/ways-help
