Mission Statement

The FDNY Fire Zone is a fire safety learning center run by the FDNY Foundation.

The FDNY Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation established to fund Fire Safety in New York City and the professional development, training and education of members of the FDNY.

Description

The FDNY Fire Zone is a state-of-the-art fire safety learning center run by the FDNY Foundation.

The experience begins in the "Fire House". Visitors are encouraged to explore the fire engine and equipment. The teamwork begins when a call comes into the firehouse, and the "Race to the Fire" takes you, in real-time, through the crowded streets of New York to the fire scene.

You are then led into a re-created Fire Scene. Through real life testimonials, you learn how easily fires can start, how quickly they can spread, and most importantly, how an escape plan could get you to safety. You then practice a fire drill and exit through a darkened, smoke-filled hallway to a predetermined meeting place, the empowerment zone. You are urged to take what you've learned and apply it in your own home.

The FDNY Fire Zone houses the official FDNY store. Proceeds benefit the FDNY Foundation.

HOURS Monday through Saturday: 9AM to 7 PM Sundays and major holidays: 11 AM to 5 PM

General admission to the FDNY Fire Zone is free. The "FIRE HOUSE" area is appropriate for all ages. There is a charge for our Fire Safety Presentation: Adults & Children: $6.00; Seniors 60 & over: $2.00; Groups: $5.00.
