PHS Educational Foundation

Description

The PHS Educational Foundation provides mentors for students in the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program at Paschal High School in Fort Worth, Texas. We hope to spead this to other FWISD high schools in the future. Mentors help students discover their deep-seated interests used to determine what college major they should pursue, which colleges are best suited for them, and to help them find financial aid other than student loans.

Mentors invest one or more hours per week during the school year with a great deal of flexibility. We are helping first generation college students recognize and believe they can fullfill their dreams for a better life through gaining a college education.

We are looking for retired college educated mentors who love young people and want to "pay it forward" for the opportunities and help they received while pursuing thier dreams in the past.

This is a very rewarding opportunity that has a devifinte positive impact on young people and their families.
