Selamta's mission is to provide comprehensive mental health services to immigrants, refugees and underserved communities from around the world , through an innovative comprehensive program focused on healing, resettlement and well-being for the entire family

Description

SELAMTA's approach is to empower the underserved members of diverse, immigrant communities scattered across Southern California, consisting of asylum seekers, victim of violence, torture survivors, refugees and more. We will provide access to a comprehensive mental health program, immigration guidance and referrals as well as assistance with navigating existing social services. SELAMTA International is dedicated to promoting mental health and self-sufficiency as a pathway to successful and meaningful settlement and integration-putting down new roots and thriving. SELAMTA's truama services component provides specelized treatment and support services for community members who are survivors of trafficking and hate crimes. Selamta also recognizes that a substantial propotion of refugees and asylees have lived through highly traumatic circumstances in their home country, including but not limited to civil disruption, community violence, war, incarcerations and torture. We also know that flight from home country can include multiple traumas including detentions and refugee camps. SELAMTA provides specialized services to meet the menatl health, case management, re-seteelement and re-intergration needs of this forced migration population.
