Mission Statement

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

Description

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature fundraising event. Held in over 5,200 communities nationwide and in over 20 countries, it is the largest non-profit fundraising event in the world. At Relay, teams of people camp out overnight and aim to have at least one team member walking around a track or path at any given point throughout the 12-hour, overnight event. Cancer never sleeps, so neither do we! Entertainment, games, activities, food, and a few meaningful ceremonies are all a part of this community event. Come celebrate Survivors, remember loved ones lost to the disease, and fight back against cancer with the only cancer organization fighting all cancers on all fronts!
