Mission Statement

Community Access Partners of San Buenaventura (CAPS) is a public forum for all Ventura residents, businesses and organizations. CAPS provides training and access to telecommunications technology so that all may become active participants in electronic media. CAPS strives to involve the entire population of Ventura as producers and viewers, as well as to empower the community through collaboration.

Description

CAPS is the only full-service visual media resource outlet in Ventura County. We are a member organization providing members and partner organizations the necessary equipment, resources and training to produce non-commercial community-based media programs to be shown on CAPS-TV Channel 6, VTV Channel 15 and /or on the web via CAPS Media Portal, as well as to be used by our partner non-profits for purposes of promotion, donor/volunteer cultivation, training or for airing on other community or public media outlets. As part of our contract with the City of Ventura we cover all city council and planning commission meetings as well as other special events and activities.

We operate a 6800 sq.ft. Media Center at 65 Day Road in Ventura that houses a variety of production equipment, editing stations and a production studio available for use by members and partner organizations. As part of our Outreach program we offer several youth and non-profit training training courses.
