Mission Statement

Siskin Children's Institute improves the quality of life for children of all abilities through excellence in education, research, health care, advocacy, and support.

Description

Siskin Children's Institute is a leader in serving children with special needs, their families and the professionals who touch their lives.

At our Siskin Early Learning Centers, we serve both children with disabilities and typically-developing children. Our inclusive educational environments allow children of all abilities to learn side by side.

The Institute's Consulting, Training and Outreach Center serves families, educators and healthcare professionals through a large resource library, community outreach programs, workshops and conferences, family support assistance, and consultation services.

In addition, the Institute conducts research focused on cutting-edge special education techniques through its Chair of Excellence at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

In 2009, the Institute plans to open Chattanooga's first behavioral and developmental pediatric clinic as well as a research center staffed with several doctorate-level researchers focused on early childhood education.

At Siskin Children's Institute, we are continually expanding the educational programs and community services that we provide to children, caregivers, educators, and healthcare professionals.
